The Parents Association are organising a collection at the school this Friday morning for Ukrainian refugees in Poland. The collection will be sent to Barrowhouse GAA club who have teamed up with A Transport Athy to deliver essential humanitarian and medical items.
It is a truly frightening time for any child and must be totally overwhelming for those with additional needs. A special collection is being made for sensory / autism needs such as ear defenders and fidget toys for children.
There will also be a general collection for all other essential items. We would be grateful if interested parents could supply any items from the following list:
Ear plugs
Ear Defenders ( child / adult)
Fidget toys (spinners, pop its etc.)
Stress balls
Unused teething toys
Childrens clothes
Nappies
Anti-septic creams
Wet wipes
Toothpaste/soap/toothbrushes
Sanitary items for women
Womens underwear (new)
Washing up powder (small boxes)
Colouring pencils and books
Dry food (lentils, buckwheat stockcubes, dried veg)
Plastic plates, bowls, cutlery
Tinned meat and fish
Shampoos
Paracetamol
Ibuprofen
Childrens calpol / nurofen
Milton tablets or equivalent
If sending shampoos etc. Its advised that it be wrapped in cling film or put in plastic sealed containers.
The transport team will be overseeing unloading and distribution at the Hrubieszowski Osrodek Sports Center, Poland.
