Dear Parents,

Many thanks to parents for preparing your child so well for their return to school. They are settling in so well. Our thanks to our Parents Association for assisting with the safe arrival of pupils in the morning. Please ensure that you explain the carpark protocols to childminders or anybody else who might be dropping or picking up your child from school.

Féilire na Scoile

We have uploaded some significant dates for the coming school year on the calendar on the homepage of the website ( www.emons.ie).

Swimming (1st to 6th), Cycle Safety training (4thclass) parent teacher meetings, Christmas Concert dates, school assessment are all included on the calendar. I will add in Sacramental dates etc when we get them.

Grianghraif ranga

Our thanks to Aaron Leavy who was in school on Thursday morning last and took class photos for the school calendar which will be published at a later date.

Obair bhaile

Homework for all children will commence on Monday September 12th.

Airgead scoile

We have uploaded details of payments for book rental, voluntary contribution and insurance. We understand how costly back to school is for parents so it’s important to point out that parents do not have to pay in one transaction and they can untick the boxes that they don’t want to pay now and pay at a later date. Please see details of the 24-hour pupil personal accident insurance attached on Aladdin.

Éide Scoile

We would appeal to parents to mark your child’s name clearly on all parts of their school tracksuit, coats and books if you haven’t done so already. Tracksuit tops and coats are the top priority as they go missing most often. Please ensure that they have a permanent name tag on them from the start of the year.

Snámh

Swimming for 1st to 3rd classes will commence on the 23rd of this month. Arrangements for same will be sent out to parents in advance. We welcome the help of parents to assist with their children at the lessons, particularly the younger ones. It’s important for parents who wish to help at the lessons to get Garda vetted for this school. Please e-mail secretary@emons.ie if you wish to be vetted and Bernadette will send you out the forms and explain the procedure.
