Buíochas

Míle buíochas to the Parents Association committee who organised a wonderful visit of Santa to the school on Friday 17th last.  It started with the arrival of Santa in a “open top jeep “. He then visited the children in their classes and gave them a selection box.

The 2022 school calendars have been distributed on to those who have ordered one. There are still a small few calendars left for anyone who wants one.

New Special Class in January

We have recently received a sanction for the opening of one of two special classes here in the school in line with Department of Education and Skills (DES) criteria. The sanctioned class is intended to meet the needs of students with complex and severe educational needs arising from their diagnosis of ASD. It will mean a change in staff allocation in the new year. Ms. Bohan will be looking after the new class.Ms. Elma McEvoy who has been supporting the junior classes will be teaching first class up to the end of this school year, starting on January 10th.

Imeachtaí na Nollag

Our staff were delighted to afford the children an opportunity of performing on stage last week. Although it was not the same without parents and grandparents present, the children nevertheless enjoyed the experience. I wish to compliment the children on their performances.

Secondly, many thanks to our teachers and SNA’s for navigating their way through social distancing, mask wearing and singing in well ventilated areas,

I would like to thank Brian O’Sullivan for camera and editing facilities and Cecil Carter for providing us with microphones.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents for your continued support for the children and teachers in the school and wish you and your families a healthy and happy Christmas.
