Since the start of the year, Junior Infants have been very busy learning through play.
We’ve been using play-based activities in maths, where children learn about counting, sorting, patterns and shapes in an engaging and hands on way. Students are problem solving and using lots of 'maths talk' when they are engaing with concrete materials.
The children have also enjoyed construction play, sensory play, role-play (like the home corner and doctor's surgery) as well as fine motor activities such as playdough, peg boards and links.
Through all of these types of play, the children are developing important skills such as communication, independence, problem-solving and confidence all whilst having lots of fun!
